We started chatting and quickly decided we wanted to meet in real life. I lived in southeastern Washington state and John lived a six hour drive away in Vancouver, British Columbia.

John drove down to Washington in Oct ’98 to meet me. When we met, it was as if we had always known each other. There were no feelings of awkwardness or that we were strangers. We just continued talking where we had left off the night before in chat!

After John returned home, we continued chatting as well as phoning each other almost daily. Even though we lived only a six hour drive from each other, we weren’t able to meet again as we were separated by a snowy mountain pass.

Finally in Feb ’99 we decided that we had waited long enough. We knew we were in love and figured we weren’t getting any younger! {laughing} So John flew down to Washington and we drove my car back up to Vancouver. We are very happy together and are now planning our June wedding. Then we will have to start the immigration process.
