I have been trying to find a forum to tell
about Danny and I (Michelle).
I was 17 when I had a devastating event
in my life. |

My best friend of 10 years decided that I
was no longer an important person in her life and just left me flat as a
board, leaving with my semi-boyfriend. I was so upset, I cried for at
least a few days. Finally when I had gotten myself together, I decided
to go online just to kill time. It was a Friday night and normally I
would have been out with my best friend and guy, but since I no longer
had that, I stayed home. I logged into a room and blatantly asked, "Is
there anyone worth talking to in here?"
Just like always, I had a few responses, all of which were the typical
Male, 24, hot. That was not what I was looking for. However there was
one that caught my eye. I can't explain why but he did.

So we began to
talk. He was from Utah and I am from California. After a few days of
emailing back and forth, we decided to talk to each other on the phone.
I was very wary so I got his number and called him from a local
payphone. A few weeks went by and we talked everyday for hours on end.
Finally we exchanged addresses and by this time I had fallen in love
with the man I had never seen. Once I received a picture of him I was
surprised.
He wasn't the handsome man of my dreams that I had always thought about,
but I was so in love with the person, it didn't matter. Danny was his
name. Being as hurt as I had been by my best friends betrayal, I was
very cautious, and it was not easy letting him into my heart, but he won
his way when he sent me from Utah a dozen red roses with a card that
read, "Roses for my angel" and I still have that card. Finally after
about two and a half months, my parents drove me down to Sacramento to
pick him up from the Airport. They had agreed to let him stay the 4th of
July weekend with us in our home.
Looking back it was a great risk, but so was it for him coming out from
Utah to stay at a home with people he had never met.
The second I saw him come off the plane I knew he was the one. It was
during that visit that he asked me to marry him. Being only 17 and 19 I
said lets wait, yes, but lets wait. We didn't tell my parents about it
obviously but it was our little secret. After that visit, he drove out
about two weeks later. and about 3 weeks after that, Danny packed up all
his stuff from Utah and moved out to California to be with me. That was
three years ago. He left school for a year to gain residency and now is
back and enrolled at the local college. He is my soul mate and we went
through with the promise to marry each other, and we got married here in
Chico California on August 5, 2000. I love him with all of my heart and
the chances of meeting him that night were a billion to one, but when
things are meant to be love can find a way.
Thank you for allowing me to share my story with you. I feel that the
good in these relationships should be allowed a voice too. It is the pen
pal of the future. thank you again.
