This was in May 2001. I won't bore you with the details of our pasts, but will say that we eventually met in January of 2002. He was in Australia for three months and he spent five weeks with me before heading off to England where he now lives and works.

He was living in New Zealand before that. We are meeting again in December, in Auckland and staying with his family before we head back to England. I am to stay for six months. I have a young son whom I cannot leave for longer than that no matter how much I would wish to stay.
 

I don't know what is going to happen. All I know is that I have found someone who inspires greatness. He is not perfect, nor would I wish him to be. We are in love, foolish, and separated by more oceans than I care to think about now.

It is all the fault of the internet, I blame it entirely. Of course, now it is the internet which keeps us in close contact with one another. I wish I could say that this story will have a happy ending but it is a story of continue parting. I said goodbye to him twice whilst he was in Australia, and I will have to say goodbye to him again next year.

I wouldn't change anything though because, sometimes, life is worth every ache, every torment, every challenge.

Keep up the love across the oceans, I know I shall.
