Nina: It's strange how things happen... you
are trudging through the mundane weary lanes of life when suddenly,
out of nowhere, love walks in and touches your life in a way that you
know that nothing could ever be the same again...

She's From: Canada He's From: Canada
I am involved with a wonderful guy I met on
ICQ. Although we haven't met yet, we are madly in love and planning to
meet in a few months.
One night I was searching for a chat
friend on ICQ through a random search.
I was looking for someone in Canada as that
is where I live. I found a guy that went by the name of IB6UB9. His name
kind of made me chuckle so I had to check out his profile.
He was interested in motorcycles, parties, sports, and or course
women...lol. My first impression was that he was some kind of biker. I
was hesitant to message him though he did intrigue me somewhat. But I
decided not to message him in the end.
Well, I was talking to some other guy and some how I accidently ended up
sending IB6UB9 a message. As soon as I realized my mistake, I almost
died. As it turned out, he eventually replied that he was busy at the
moment and would get back to in a few minutes. But he did ask if he
could he could put me on his friends list. I agreed and added him also.
A few minutes passed and I never heard back from him.
A few nights later I was on ICQ and so was he. I decided to wait for him
to send a message this time. He did and apologized for not getting back
to me. We chatted that night for a couple of hours....laughing the whole
time. We both really enjoyed our conversation. We seemed to have a lot
in common.
I eventually lost the "biker" impression I had of him as I learned more
about him and his friends and family. I'm not sure who first spoke the
words, but we both are truly in love. Neither one of us were looking for
"love" online and we are both amazed that it has happened. His friends
and family don't seem to understand how he feels. Because of my job, I
do have people I can talk to that understand that online love does
exist.
Because of my job, I am unable to travel to meet him. He lives 3500
miles away....near my home town (which is amazing too). I have two
children, which has ruled out the possibility of him coming here. We
have discussed this at length...we have to wait until I can get time
off. I have arranged to take 5 weeks off work in 6 months and plan to
visit him for 3 weeks.
We usually talk 5 - 6 times a week for about 3 hours. We chat online or
on the telephone. We have sent cards and gifts. People ask me what we
find to talk about for so long. Its difficult to answer because it's
more than just talking...its the only way we have right now to be
together.
We have discussed the future and the possibility of my moving out there.
I am able to get a transfer with my job and I have family out there
also, so we thought it would be better for me to make the move. He also
can't wait to do things with my kids. He loves children but has never
had any of his own. He is such a wonderful guy. It must have been fate
when I accidently sent him a message...lol.
I am realistic enough to know that things may not work out once we have
finally met, but the last 3 months have been great. I was planning a
trip out that way to visit my sister anyway. If the most I get from this
is a great new friend....then I consider myself lucky.
